FAQ
This space is for you if you have special questions to ask Lynda. E-mail them to her at ladawp@yahoo.com For example, the following:
QUESTION: I was hurt so bad and am struggling with unforgiveness. I heard you mention once at a conference that God will not forgive us if we don't forgive. Is this true? If it is, how can God be an unforgiving God? I thought He forgave all our sins--
ANSWER: God does forgive all our sins when we cry out to Him. However, His Word is clear in numerous places that if we refuse to forgive He will not forgive us. We are tying His hands, so to speak, and unforgiveness leads to all kinds of torment. Matthew 18:34,35 warns us: "And his lord was wroth, and delivered him to the tormentors, till he should pay all that was due unto him. So likewise shall my heavenly Father do also unto you, if ye from your hearts forgive not every one his brother their trespasses." Tormentors can come in the form of depression, fear, anxiety, etc.
Matthew 6:14, 15 tells us: "For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you: But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses."
Mark 11:25, 26: And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses. But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses.
QUESTION: I have read most of your books and know that a lot of your personal life story is contained in them. I think this is great, because it helps people to know you, and to be encouraged by your life and how God has helped you overcome. Do you have more stories about your life that you could share?
ANSWER: God has granted me a rich and full life. He has been so good to me that sometimes it is hard to contain it! My newest book, HIGHLIGHTS OF MY LIFE, contains much of my personal story. I think you will enjoy it. You can order from www.awpministries.org - Click on "Products."
QUESTION: I have heard a rumor and wonder if it is true. Is there going to be a healing conference in different parts of the country? If so, when, and where?
ANSWER: Yes! A Woman's Place Ministries, of which I am the director, sponsored three "Help Me Heal" National Healing Conferences in 2008. We were also in Louisiana, and will return to Providence, RI in October 2009. We plan to be in Florida, Louisiana, and Missouri in 2010. If you are interested in getting updated information, you can visit out website: www.HelpMeHealConference.org
QUESTION: Are you a minister?
ANSWER: Yes, I have been fully ordained by District and National officials of my organization.
QUESTION: Sister Doty, I am confused about your training. Someone told me you have degrees in psychology, but I have read where you say you are a certified biblical counselor. Which is correct? ---Amy
ANSWER: Dear Amy: Both are correct. I studied clinical psychology before giving my life to the Lord. I studied at Georgia State University in Atlanta, where I earned bachelor's and master's degrees in psychology. Then I was accepted into the doctoral program in clinical psychology at the California School of Professional Psychology--a quality secular institution and fully accredited. I could not reconcile my beliefs in God with the discipline of psychology and dropped out. I later completed my Ph.D. in a Bible college. Later I helped found the Institute of Soteric Counseling, and became certified. I still serve on the board of that institute, and oversee the Distance Education department. www.soteric.org
I do hope this clears up any confusion.
Bless you, Sis. Doty
